La compétition anglaise ouverte à l’international ‘Underwater Photographer of the Year’ ou UPY recherche chaque année, depuis 1965, les plus belles photos subaquatiques, qu’elles aient été réalisées en mer, en eau douce ou même en piscine. Ce concours photos international propose 10 catégories de photos sous-marines : grand angle, macro, épaves, comportement, portrait, compact, espoir et trois catégories pour les eaux britanniques avec macro, grand angle et compact. Une catégorie récompense par ailleurs les meilleurs photographes sous-marins de l’année toutes catégories confondues.
